苹果CEO蒂姆·库克将在9月1日卸任，把接力棒交给约翰·特纳斯。
不出意外，库克会转任董事会执行主席，继续在苹果担任重要角色，尤其会作为公司的全球首席外交官保持活跃。卸任CEO？没错。但彻底退休？那可谈不上。你完全可以相信他说的话——他无法想象没有苹果的生活。
随着这次CEO交接进入公众视野，我忍不住又翻出了上一次权力交接时的官方新闻资料。
当然，那次的情况完全不同，当时史蒂夫·乔布斯已经走到生命尽头。现在重温这些内容，依然让人感慨万千。乔布斯当年对蒂姆·库克的全力支持，如今在库克对下一任CEO约翰·特纳斯的推荐中，也能看到相似的回响。
蒂姆·库克接手苹果时，正承受着深深的个人伤痛
回过头看，蒂姆·库克当时面临的任务非常艰巨。他在乔布斯的祝福和全力支持下接掌苹果，但乔布斯已经无法再给他任何指导。
与此同时，他还要一边工作，一边承受失去导师和挚友的痛苦。
如今，大家评价库克的表现，主要看公司市值和股价。他确实在近15年时间里，把苹果从3500亿美元的公司，带到了市值4万亿美元的规模。
但他上任之初，承受的压力其实巨大——公司刚刚失去了灵魂人物。而对库克来说，乔布斯的离世更是无比沉重且私人的打击。
正因为当时他脚下的地面在剧烈震动，我们才更应该肯定他在最初那段日子的领导力。
没有真正的过渡期，只有接班计划和乔布斯的支持
乔布斯写给苹果董事会和苹果社区的辞职信，字里行间充满人情味和情感。苹果在2011年8月24日发布了那封信：
Letter from Steve Jobs
To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:
I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Tim Cook Named CEO and Jobs Elected Chairman of the Board
Apple’s Board of Directors today announced that Steve Jobs has resigned as Chief Executive Officer, and the Board has named Tim Cook, previously Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, as the company’s new CEO. Jobs has been elected Chairman of the Board and Cook will join the Board, effective immediately.
“Steve’s extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world’s most innovative and valuable technology company,” said Art Levinson, Chairman of Genentech, on behalf of Apple’s Board. “Steve has made countless contributions to Apple’s success, and he has attracted and inspired Apple’s immensely creative employees and world class executive team. In his new role as Chairman of the Board, Steve will continue to serve Apple with his unique insights, creativity and inspiration.”
“The Board has complete confidence that Tim is the right person to be our next CEO,” added Levinson. “Tim’s 13 years of service to Apple have been marked by outstanding performance, and he has demonstrated remarkable talent and sound judgment in everything he does.”
Jobs submitted his resignation to the Board today and strongly recommended that the Board implement its succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO.
As COO, Cook was previously responsible for all of the company’s worldwide sales and operations, including end-to-end management of Apple’s supply chain, sales activities, and service and support in all markets and countries. He also headed Apple’s Macintosh division and played a key role in the continued development of strategic reseller and supplier relationships, ensuring flexibility in response to an increasingly demanding marketplace.

2011年10月19日，苹果在无限循环1号园区举办了纪念史蒂夫·乔布斯的活动。
活动结束后，苹果发布了蒂姆·库克在公司讲话的照片，背景是挂在总部的一张乔布斯海报和一台麦金塔电脑。
后来，苹果总部搬到了苹果园，那是乔布斯生前深度参与的项目。直到现在，库比蒂诺市还会在官网分享乔布斯当年关于苹果园的市议会演示文稿。
苹果还以已故联合创始人的名字，命名了举办大型产品发布会的“史蒂夫·乔布斯剧院”。
2017年，蒂姆·库克发表了一篇感人的致敬文章。他说，对苹果来说，现在终于可以带着喜悦而不是悲伤来怀念乔布斯了。
苹果最近庆祝成立50周年，这本身就是蒂姆·库克成功为乔布斯接力下去的最好证明。

唯一相似的是，当年乔布斯对库克的全力支持，和如今库克对特纳斯的全力支持。
